About me
I’ve been painting and drawing as long as I can remember and within the last year I have started to put these skills towards building a career as an illustrator. Previously I worked in children’s mental healthcare, but after my ADHD diagnosis and understanding more about my neurodivergencies and self, I realised I wanted to seek out more creative avenues. This started with a role in social media for a mental health charity, however I quickly realised I wanted to be even more creative and on the forefront of the visual design process, creating the images myself. Since this realisation, I have taught myself digital art/illustration and attended the Royal Drawing School for the drawing intensive to develop my physical art skills as well.
I find that painting and drawing allow for self-discovery through emotional expression and communicating with visuals. It also allows me to make use of my acute attention to detail and push my creative imagination. When I’m not painting or drawing, you’ll probably find me crocheting, sewing, in an art gallery, perusing vintage clothing stores, with family/friends, cozied up with my dogs or gaming.
Moving forward my hope is to work with clients, illustrating their children’s books. In the future, I’d love the opportunity to work on books for children that navigate topics of mental health and neurodivergencies as I’m passionate about the importance of education, awareness and understanding.
