Flood-geddon & the evolution of earth 2.0
This short sequence was created for an illustration competition, of which the theme was “future forecasts”.
A future where humanity is extinct due to a cataclysmic flood, then mermaids evolve from the same aquatic ancestors as humans, and a new underwater world is born. The narrative ends with an underwater metropolis, showing the enduring spirit of life and resilience of nature. Both a hopeful and cautionary tale: Even in the face of destruction, life finds a way to persevere, and perhaps repeat its patterns.
“This theme invites artists to dive into the depths of their imaginations and depict their visions of the future through illustrations. From gleaming metropolises to the untamed frontiers of unexplored worlds, artists are encouraged to explore the myriad possibilities that lie ahead. Whether it's a utopian paradise, a dystopian nightmare, or something entirely unique, we want to see your interpretation of what the future holds.”
